The Usefulness of Colored Progressive Matrices(CPM) in children

Abstract
We commonly use KEDI-WISC IQ test for the purpose of screening of children who are delayed developed. But it takes more than an hour to have a test, has difficulty in interpretation. Colored Progressive Matrices(CPM), introduced in 1938,
evaluates
children's intelligence by measuring the ability to form comparisions, to reason organized spatial perceptions into systemically related whole. It is used in the test of the children from 5 to 11 years of age. It takes about 20 minutes to
administer and
is easy to interprete. This study examined the correlation between CPM IQ and KEDI-WISC IQ to determine the usefulness sex and KEDI-WISC score.
@ES The results were as follows;
@EN 1) There were significant correlations between CPM IQ and KEDI-WISC IQ. verbal IQ, performance IQ regardless of sex and age.
2) There were significant correlations between CPM IQ and KEDI-WISC IQ regardless of KEDI-WISC score although relatively low correlations exist between CPM IQ and performance IQ in high KEDI-WISC score group(above 85), and CPM IQ and verbal IQ
in
low
KEDI-WISC score group(below 84).
Above result showed that CPM IQ is useful screening test for selection of delayed developed children.
